About me
About me
I have been a full-time professional translator since 2004
I facilitate communication into Spanish for United Nations agencies (FAO, IFAD, PAHO, WFP, WHO, etc.) and other international organizations (IDB, IMF, etc.), government institutions and non-governmental organizations (Climate Advisers, Greenpeace, WWF, etc.).
My passion for discovering new places has led me to live in various countries (United Kingdom, Germany, France and Brazil), where I immersed myself in what are now my working languages and their respective cultures.
Education and career path

Fernando Campos Leza
My academic training (degrees in philosophy, from the University of the Basque Country, and in translation, from the Higher School of Interpreting and Translation (ESIT), in Paris) helped me to hone my critical thinking skills and to develop the reflexes of a translator.
Over the years, I have worked on a great variety of projects requiring precision and accuracy,
ranging from complex economic reports to the personal stories of people living with HIV, from financial plans for massive investment projects to aeronautic practices that take account of climate change or conservation initiatives in Amazonian villages. I am fortunate and proud to work with clients and subjects that are consistent with my own values: tackling climate change, promoting human rights, advancing official development assistance, championing equality and supporting multilateralism.
Translation
During my career, I have had the opportunity to translate specialized documents across a wide range of fields: reports on economic and public health issues, national policy, agriculture and climate change, as well as press releases and speeches.
Editing & Proofreading
I also offer editing and proofreading services. I have worked on numerous publications, both in original Spanish and in translation, covering topics from public health to development. I am familiar with the best Spanish-language specialized resources I take pride in producing clear, polished texts.
Teaching
I have taught many courses on productivity-enhancing tools for translators, both in person and online, for associations such as Asetrad and Tremédica. I have also delivered workshops on translation technology tools for international organizations.
Writing
As someone who enjoys sharing knowledge, I have published articles on resources for translators in specialized publications, such as La Linterna del Traductor and Panace@.
